Highly Specialized World Class Care
Our goal is to aide athletes of all ages.
Our sports medicine physicians goal is to aide athletes of all ages when they suffer an injury doing any type of physical activity. Our goal is to get you back in action as quickly and safely as possible.
Our sports medicine physicians help any patients that might be suffering from certain conditions regardless if they're an athlete or not.
While many sports medicine physicians are nonoperative, meaning they don’t perform large open surgeries, at UAMS we have several Orthopaedic Surgeons. When it comes to non operative physicians, many of them are able to perform cutting-edge micro-invasive surgical procedures that used to required a large open surgery. Additionally, our team works closely with our TRM crew which consists of Physical Therapists, Athletic Trainers, and Strength Coaches.
Sports Performance
Optimization
No matter your sport of choice, optimal body function can only be achieved when everything is working the way it should be, and this can’t happen when your body is not properly aligned.
Injury Prevention
Non-contact situations account for nearly 70% of serious knee ligament injuries. It is our belief that these non-contact knee ligament injuries are preventable.
Biomechanics
Biomechanics is the science that deals with the external and internal forces acting on biological systems and the effects produced by these forces.
Nutrition
A number of factors contribute to success in sport, and diet is a key component. An athlete’s dietary requirements depend on several aspects, including the sport, the athlete’s goals, the environment, and practical issues.
Diagnostic Ultrasound
Diagnostic ultrasound is an imaging method that uses sound waves to produce images of structures within your body. The images can provide valuable information for diagnosing and directing treatment for a variety of conditions.
Regenerative Medicine
Regenerative medicine is a modern non-operative treatment solution that utilizes the body's natural healing process to rebuild damaged tissue, heal injuries more effectively, and eliminate pain.
